Many of you will remember in June 2021 we tragically lost one of our junior Huskies. If you didn't know Spencer Baker we can almost guarantee that at some stage you would have seen him at the stadium, ball in hand, cheeky smile & mischief behind his big eyes.

 

As a club we have discussed many ways we could honour Spence's memory and we are delighted to have the "Spencer Baker Award".   We are now in our 4th Season.

The Spencer Baker Award will be awarded to one deserving junior Huskie. Each coach will nominate one player from their team who they feel meet the below criteria and the Huskie committee will have the onerous task of narrowing the nominees to one.

 

All nominees should have the following traits, which our Spence also possessed:

- Respect for coaches & referees

- Great teammate, both on & off the court

- Encouraging to others

- Always tries their hardest & never gives up

- And, passion for basketball.
